9/2-9/9 in Paris. Is there a week long metro pass like the one that can be purchased for one month. The pass that allows both bus and metro train around Paris. Also, best place to purchase. Is the photo involved and the cost?
Google Navigo Decouverte, which is what such a pass is called.
The pass is for a calendar week, in that it is a French calendar that starts on Monday and the weekend is truly a week end. So if you buy it on Sunday 9/2 (when you arrive?), it will be valid after 11:59 PM Sunday night. You need to have 1" by 1 1/4" passport type photos. The cost is 22.80 EUR plus a 5 EUR first time set-up fee. You can buy at any manned Metro or RER station. Good for the entire Paris region, including Versailles, Disneyland, and CDG airport, but then if you arrive on Sunday, it will not be valid that day.

Very helpful. Thanks for all the info.
The Navigo fares, which may be loaded onto a Navigo Découverte card, are available for one day, one week, one month or one year.
You can get photos at nearly every train station. 5 euros for 4 photos at the kiosk. Super simple if you don't bring extra passport photos with you. You can keep the pass for your next trip & just reload it when you return.
Passport photos are too big; the size of the space is 25/30mm. You can print on printer at home or clip your head out of a snapshot, we did the latter for our first ND and the former for one we got this past year. The ND can be charged daily with what is essentially a Mobilis pass (and pretty pricey unless you have a day with 6 or 7 rides - which we have never done once). It can also be charged weekly or monthly -- but not annually. That would be only available for the Navigo not the Navigo Decouverte.
