Metro Paris Line 12 under renovation?

Hi All,

I read a notif from ratp france that Concorde Metro Stat Line 12 service is under renovation until 10th of July . guess what, I need to use its service on 10th of July to Sacre Coeur.

Is it the whole line 12 stations under renovation or is it just Concorde stat? The website only mention Concorde thus, if other line 12 stats are still in operation, I'd still plan to use Metro and get off at Abbesses Line 12 Stat. otherwise, I need to stop at Blanche or Anvers but it's quite a long walk up to Sacre Coeur (not to mention the stairs)

Please advice

cheers All

I was in Paris in May and at that time the renovation to which you refer only affected the Concorde station.
So you're correct, the renovation of the Concorde station won't affect your travel-- you just stay on Line 12 and get off at the Abbesses station. It will still be a bit of a walk uphill to Montmartre, but it's impossible to avoid some uphill walking if your destination is Sacre Coeur, since no Metro line goes up to the top of the hill.
When you get off at Abbesses, use the exit out of the station that leads you east (if you have a choice), and walk east on Rue Yvonne le Tac and Tue Tardieu and you'll come to Square Valadon, where you can get on the Funicular up the hill, if you don't want to walk north up to Sacre Coeur.
One thing that helped me a lot using the Metro is to bring or buy there a $5 compass, and then when you emerge from a Metro station onto the ground level, and you know you want to walk east, the compass will indicate the direction you need to walk toward.

Hi Ken,

Thanks so much for the info especially the station exit. Ahh i wish i have info on other stations exits too. It could indeed be time consuming and detour if we take the wrong one.

Cheers

The platforms for Line 12 at Concorde are closed but trains are running through them and serving all other stops on the line. The inconvenience is that it means you can't directly interchange between Line 12 and Line 1.

Hi Phillip

Yes, i'd be from louvre before that. So i plan to take line 7 to opera then line 3 to st lazurre then line 12 to abbesses.

That is a nice tip. What we did is study the map (ask at any staffed station for the big metro map, which shows streets) and see what direction we wanted to go relative to the station. Knowing the direction the train was traveling, we could then see if we wanted to go left or right when we emerged.
