Métro Closures in Paris Again Saturday, December 15

The RATP has posted the stations and sections of lines that it will close tomorrow, Saturday, December 15.

It is pretty much the list from last week except a few stations have been ADDED to the closures, including St Michel.

The sections of lines that will be closed:

Edit mid-day Dec 15 (changes in parentheses)

Line 1 between Porte Maillot & Gare de Lyon
Line 6 between Passy and Charles de Gaulle Étoile
Line 8 between La Motte Picquet Grenelle and Richelieu-Drouot
Line 9 between St Augustin and rue de la Pompe
Line 12 between Sèvres-Babylone and Madeleine (not Madeleine, blocked all the way to Pigalle)
Line 13 between Montparnasse-Bienvenue and St Augustin (not St Augustin, blocked all the way to Place de Clichy)
(Add: Line 14 between Saint-Lazare and Chatelet)

It isn't just The Conflict. It's a coming together, sort of, of many conflicts that have been brewing for years, maybe since before the French Revolution and Louis 14's rule of Absolute Power. No, this won't end but will morph constantly into other dissatisfactions bringing street protests. With a super strong central government leaving little power to municipalities "descend dans les rues" has long been a French cry and probably will continue to be.

Enterprising tourists could use these blockages, demonstrations, gatherings in tourist areas to get out and see some of the edges of Paris that any good guidebook would point them to.
