Best way to get between the two towns?
Any detail would be great! Thanks.
regular frequent train
that's as much detail as you provided
It's three kilometers by the sea road, or a short train ride away, as Nigel pointed out.
Thank you. I wasn't sure if taking a bus or train would be better. I will have luggage. Should I have reservations or is it pay at the station? I have a train reservation from Ventimiglia to Genoa and I am just figuring out the first leg.
It's a short little trip, really a commuter train for people working along the coast. You get your ticket when you are ready to go.
The train between Menton and Ventimiglia (or Ventimille as it is called in French) runs twice an hour. It is an unreserved train. Just buy a ticket and hop on. The fare is €3.10.
The bus from Nice to Menton (line 100) terminates in Menton. It does not go into Italy. Rome2Rio does show a bus between Menton and Ventimiglia, but it shows it as only running twice a day.
Great information. Thank you everyone!
Everyone's posts have got you covered; I would take the quick train ride. I'd add that you can look up schedules at www.bahn.com (is the German rail site but so organized and comprehensive for all of Europe). No need to buy the ticket ahead of time.
Sounds good. Thank you for all the posts
