My husband and I will be in Menton for 3 nights this September. Please recommend day trips and best outdoor seating restaurants. We will also be in Villefrance-sur-mer for 3 nights after that. We will not have a car.
The little ancient village of Rocquebrune Cap Martin is charming and an easy bus ride up the hill. There is the ruined Grimaldi castle and also a cemetery above the town where Corbusier is buried and which has a great view to Monaco and Menton.
Coco-loco on the Sablettes beach, is a favorite of ours and our family who lives in Menton. Big fruit decorated cocktails and good food. Be sure to reserve. La Trattoria is another good restaurant with a sought-after enclosed terrace. Again, reserve.
Not Menton, but we had an excellent meal across the border at the Ventimille marina at Bagni San Giuseppe. Seafood, seafood, seafood. Not for beef lovers.
