So I’m planning a winter trip to Paris for next January- February. Men’s F Wk is Jan 19-24 and Jan 25-28. It doesn’t seem to have affected prices at Hotel Muguet but I was wondering what sort of increase in tourism, if any, might occur? Women’s Fashion week is in March, I think.
The impact is mostly felt in and around the Marais in general, and around event-specific venues right when a show happens. In the 7th arrondissement, you won't notice a thing.
To put this in perspective, I only became aware of Fashion Week when I moved to the 3rd arrondissement. Before, living in the 15th and 16th, I barely even knew about it.
Thanks balso, I figured it probably would be low impact. Can I ask, do you notice tourist amounts shift throughout the year in your daily routine in the 3rd? I chatted with a guy on an elevator in London who very glad it was February and no tourists until he realized I was one. He was embarrassed but I assured him, no offense was taken.
January after the New Year period and February are the only quieter months left. And mornings, before 1 PM, are usually quiet throughout the year.
Don't worry about it. It's a large city and absorbs the extra people. I have been there during all the Fashion Weeks and unless you are around where the shows are, or the hotels where most of the fashion industry stays, you wouldn't know it. At most you'll see some well dressed people but it won't affect museum lines, etc.
