Are the Loire valley chateaux closed on national holiday May 8 (European Victory Day, Jour de Victoire)? We are planning to be in the Loire Valley for only 3 days and we will need to adjust our plans if entries to the famous chateaux such as Chenonceaux, Chambord, etc. are closed on May 8.

"The Castle is open all year long." And further down the page:
May 1st , May 8th / Ascension (may 29th , 30th , 31st, June 1st) 9.00 AM - 7:30 PM
That's for Chenonceau. I'm sure you can easily check the other chateaux online.
Thanks so much! I had not known how to find the individual websites for the chateaux (sorry for my ignorance on that). This is a great help!
Chenonceaux is not government owned so it has different hours than those that are. best to check on each one you plan to visit. I don't know if it still applies, but years ago, many of the govt ones were closed on Tuesdays.
Good point! Thanks for mentioning the distinction between chateaux that are operated privately and those that belong to the government.
