We will be in Provence on the May 1 holiday. I understand that many things are closed, But are the any favorite ways to spend the holiday. We will be based in Aix and have access to a car.

In Arles is the Arlésiennes et Gardians: https://provence-alpes-cotedazur.com/en/things-to-do/events/all-events/the-guardians-festival-arles-en-3455657/ It's an old custom, similar to an annual blessing of the cowboys and crowning the rodeo queen. Locals dress in traditional attire as they parade through town.
