I am wondering if it is possible to spend a day in Corsica if leaving from Marseilles.
I need to end up in Nice, which I understand I probably need to go from Corsica to another city and then take the train to Nice.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Not possible, sorry! Corsica is a large island, and it is quite far from mainland France - the ferry from Marseille takes a whole night, for example.
There are plenty of more suitable stopover options between Marseille and Nice; for example the coast between Saint Raphaël and Mandelieu is stunning and very easily accessed by train.
Thanks for the response. Probably why I couldn't find any info about it!!!
See if can you could fly to Corsica from MRS then from Corsica to NCE but you'd probably still have to spend the night
Corsican Lines ferry sails from Marseille to Bastia on Corsica at 18:00 (6pm) daily. It takes 12 hours so you arrive early in the morning. Staterooms are reasonable on board. Then you can catch a ferry from Bastia to Nice which takes about 6 hours. The problem is they usually leave in the morning so to have any time to explore Corsica you’ll need to spend a night.
You can check out sailing dates, times and costs at www.aferry.com.
Hey oregonbridges, if you’re near the Portland area, come to our monthly RS travel group on the third Saturday of the month. We have a great group!
