I need help trying to figure out how to get from MRS airport to our hotel in Avignon on Saturday, May 16. We arrive at MRS about 5 pm. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I used the instructions on the airport website to do the trip in the opposite direction. You can take a short bus ride from the airport to the Vitrolles-Aéroport Marseille Provence train station and then a train to Avignon.

Also if you download the SNCF app to your phone and set it up, you can check the train schedule on arrival and buy your ticket via the app.
Airport websites, in this case the Marseille Airport website, are good places to start to
figure out ground transport options once you land.
It's not that long a trip, and train/bus are both potential options. I suppose even a taxi
may suffice if you're willing to pay the price.
Note that a train may go to either the Avignon TGV station, which is a bit outside of
the city, or the Avignon Centre station.
Thank you so much for the information. I was able to do my research and I'm not so nervous about this trip. It looks like the regional train is the simplest and most direct way to go.
We are traveling Avignon to Marseille airport (opposite of your trip) with luggage. Do you think this train is a good option? Or do you have any info on a private car? Thank you.
I think the regional train can be a good way to go, but I also checked with our hotel in taking a taxi. The Avignon hotel said a taxi would cost about 180 euros and they could set it up for us. We haven't decided which option to use. We leave in about a month.
Honestly, if you can afford the 180€ without too much hesitation, it is a good option. The train connection is not that convenient, you first have to take a bus to the train station, and the trains aren't that frequent. With a taxi, if you land on time, you're guaranteed to be in Avignon in time for a pre-dinner refreshing.
