Wife and I will be checking in hotel at Marseille airport Saturday morning early May 7th. and not flying out until next day.
Have been to Aix but never been to Marseille and considering a day trip into city utilizing train located adjacent to airport.
Any sudgestions as to nice walking areas, shopping and lunch sites.
Will have car so could go elsewhere but train sounds easier.
Also any recommendations as to a nice, non- touristy place for dinner near airport for that evening.
Any sudjestions for the day would be appresiated.

The Vieux-Port is a MUST see. I spent a week in Marseille at Christmas. You can take a walk from St. Charles to the Vieux Port. You'll see plenty of shopping choices and then once you get to the Vieux-Port your can find some nice restaurants.
