We are spending 2 nights in Marseille in early May. any recommendations for dinner? We are huge seafood fans, prefer casual dining. Thanks!
We ate at La Tête de Chou and had the best meal surrounded by locals. The house Côtes du Rhône wine turned out to be the best wine we had during our entire visit to France. Grilled octopus with a caramel sauce was out of this world.
That sounds amazing. Thank you!
Try Restaurant Michel, facing Catalan Beach. Specializing in seafood, especially bouillabaisse.
marydpriestman,
I just remembered...Chez Fonfon in the Vallon des Auffes.....terrific,and been these for about 70 years. Great bouillabaisse also!
Sounds perfect!
Vallon des Auffes is a cute area of Marseille. Allow a bit of extra time to see it. I walked to it without difficulty, but it wasn't a short walk. If your time is limited, you'll want to check the possibility of a bus or plan for a taxi.
acraven is correct re taxi or bus.
Two older singles are spending 2 nights in Marseille in August, suggestions for accommodations location, cleanliness, safety are priorities, restaurant suggestions appreciated as well. Thanks!
