Marseille cruise ship stop with kids- HELP!

We will be stopping in Marseille in August from 9am to 6pm. We have four kids- ages 9 through 16. Does Marseille have enough to do to keep my kids occupied? Not really into museums (and we will get enough of those at other ports).

Was looking at doing the calanques from Marseille- but concerned that it is 5 hours on a small boat- are the seas rough and/or would seasickness be an issue?

Are there better ideas to do with kids? Cassis or Aix? Or taking a shorter calanques cruise from Cassis? (Larger boats I am seeing). Any suggestions are much appreciated.

It might depend what you are doing on your other stops. But if you don't want to do museums at your Marseille port stop, I would think Aix would be great with kids. Just enough of various French things (market, churches, pretty streets to walk, even if you don't want to do a typical museum there is Cezannes studio and also the hill where he painted Mont St Victoire to see). It is only about 30 minutes from Marseille. I highly recommend tour guide Ted. He is a younger man, is French-American and so his English is native, very warm and kind personality and I think he would be very good with kids. We did several tours with him last summer in Aix: markets, "treasure hunt", petanque lessons. https://tedaixtours.wpcomstaging.com/ Enjoy the planning!
