I am preparing a trip to the Luberon region for 2 couples. We will be flying into Marseilles and arriving 11:30 am. I would like to take the TER train to Avignon Centre and from there get to Avignon TGV where I plan to rent a car with return to Avignon TGV 9 days later. We will be taking the TGV to Paris where we will finish out our trip in the 5th arr. near to Gare Lyon.
My question involves the practicalities of getting to the airport train station which is 1.8 km away. How would folks recommend we do that?
From Marseille Airport (MRS) take bus 13 to the Vitrolles Aéroport Marseille-Provence (VAMP) train station.
Thank you, this is just what I was looking for
You are welcome. Here's the website to see the details:

Did you consider to rent the car at Marseilles airport even if you want to return at Avignon TGV. There may be a fee for that one way rental likely $75 to $100 but Marseilles airport is very easy to access as the rental cars are just across the driveway from the terminals and the exit to the highway from there easy too. Especially if your time will be in Luberon. Saves the two connections bus, train, train to Avignon TGV pickup.
There is also a bus from the MRS airport to Marseille Saint-Charles, the main train station. in case that might give you more choices for train times and connections. There appear to be some direct INOUI TGV trains from Marseille Saint-Charles to Avignon TGV if I am reading correctly. This airport bus to Saint-Charles runs frequently and takes about 30 minutes. Note that cash is required if you buy the airport shuttle bus ticket from the driver but credit cards for buying online or from a ticket agent.
I am not knowledgable whether there is an advantage for you to go to the VAMP station as recommended by alomaker.
