Market Street(s) close to hotel

Hello! We will be staying close the Pont Neuf just a block off the Seine. We want to do some local shopping when we get in as we will have a small kitchenette. I don't want to go far as I know the jet lag will be setting in and we will probably only have enough energy for basic shopping and dinner before turning in.

For that same reason, I want to be prepared on directions. Anyone know of a good shopping area - possibly between there and Saint Germain?

There is a Carrefours on Rue de Seine. Marche Saint Germain is probably a 10-minute walk away. If you give the cross street or the name of the hotel, you could get more precise responses. There is a lot of shopping in the area. Are you planning to cook or just looking for pre-made snacks?

The food market nearby with the best selection is at Monoprix near the corner of rue de Rennes and blvd St Germain. They have a fish monger (with large cooked shrimp often at 9.90€ per kilo) and a butcher which is one of the few in Paris offering dry aged beef. For that expect to pay up to 45€ to 50€ per kilo. They have almost anything you might need.

The grocery is at the basement level.

Hotel will be the Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Pres Paris. Looking for a group of shops not a "supermarket" - more like Rue Cler where you can go to the fromagerie, boulangerie, etc. We will not "cook" in the room - just croissants for breakfast, some cheese, bread, butter and wine for evening.

If you have Google Maps on your computer put in the address of your hotel and then use the street view option....drag and drop the little man in front of your hotel and then use you touch pad to see what’s around and nearby.... once you get the hang of this it’s a great means of checking out your neighborhood.

I use it all the time when traveling.

Have a great trip.

You will be spoilt for choice if you are willing to walk 15 minutes -- many places including the ones I mention are closer. Rue de Seine near Rue de Buci and Rue de Buci have the types of shops that you are looking for, I think -- macarons, ice cream, fruit stand, etc. As I mentioned before Marche Saint Germain, a covered market, might suit http://www.marchesaintgermain.com/. If you make your way to Rue Jacob, you will find the very lovely Josephine Bakery https://www.facebook.com/Jos%C3%A9phine-Bakery-436408193096227/ You may also like this place https://www.arnaudlarher.com/ (I fell in love with Arnaud Larher in 2016 when I was semi-lost in Montmartre). The interestingly name Cul de Cochon has a branch on Rue de Buci http://www.culdecochon.com/.
