Looking at the first part of March to spend some time in Paris and then on to Chamonix. Never been there that my time of year. Any experiences some could share? Thx in advance… Steve

We will spend Feb-Mar in the countryside of Bretagne. Inexpensive, hopefully cold enough (we are from South Dakota). We too are interested in the things to do. Certainly this is the heart of futbol season in Europe. In addition, I would think that it would be a good season for music indoors.

My husband visited Paris in March 2013. It snowed quite heavily one day, so winter weather can still happen. Despite the snow, he had a lovely trip, and we have been to Paris many times together since then.

I was there last March and will go again in March 2026. Though it was more toward the middle of the month, it was mild (high 50's and 60's) and sunny. Really, anything can happen though, so don't go by any previous weather.

Pack with layers in mind and bring an umbrella and waterproof footwear. You'll be fine.

Earlier this year, I was in Paris for about three weeks, from mid-March to early April. I love parks and gardens, and I was surprised and a bit disappointed by how bare the trees were when I arrived. By the time I left, the trees were much greener.

I flew into Paris on 18 March 2024, the next day was in the 70s, the remainder of the week in the 60s, was gorgeous. When I left, the bottom fell out and Paris was rainy and chilly for the rest of the month.

What is the plan in Chamonix, skiing?
