We will be in Loire Valley March 21-24, give or take a day on either side, and I’m suitors about off season closures and whatnot. Would love to stay in Amboise as we prefer smaller communities but it was suggested that staying in Tours might be more beneficial since it’s relatively off season. We are renting a car, though I’m not too wild about driving in busy traffic.
Thought on that region in March?
If you have a car, you can stay wherever you like. Ever since Rick mentioned Tours' traffic and dismissing the city as not being of much importance, I've been annoyed. It's a gem. Maybe that's a blessing as you don't see as many teal books!
“Curious” instead of suitors…don’t you love predictive text?
Any thought about if that time of year will be lots of closures for the winter?
Hi If you stay in Loire Valley, most castles will be open, and it will be the same for the restaurants. March is a pleasant month in Loire Valley, but for the weather, it's a gamble.
Thank you. Some of my best memories are trips that were off season and iffy weather. We spent several days in Venice in cold rainy January and had a blast.
