Marais Walk - timing the distance to Carnavalet Museum

Hello,

About how long does it take to get from Place de la Bastille to the Carnavalet Museum when following the Paris Guidebook's Marais Walk. Thank you!

Even with the sightseeing stops along the way? I can see spending at least 15-20 minutes in Place de Vosges alone. Thanks!

Rick says (in the "orientation" section of the description of his Marais Walk): "Allow about 2.5 hours for this 2.25-mile walk. Figure on an additional hour for each museum you visit along the way."
Edit: Rick means the entire walk described in his walk. Carnavalet Museum is about half way through his route. So who knows, an hour, an hour and a quarter. Depends on how many museums you visit along the way.

I interpreted your post at face value - if you are stopping along the way , judging the time sort of becomes open ended based on your interests and tastes , making this question rather difficult to answer .

Exactly as Steven says.. if you are simply walking there.. 10 minutes.. but there are many reasons it could take longer. totally up to YOU!

Please tell me you are not timing your itinerary to the minute.. I have seen people do that before and boy are they in for a shock when they discover what looks good on paper often does not work out in real life.

Never mind the fact that Paris is so easy to get lost in.. all those weird intersections that split 3 or 5 ways at odd angles.. you think you are walking along in a straight line down the street and then realize you totally messed up.. lol.. find some great stuff that way !

Do look on the building sides as you walk along.. I always look for the plaques put up that denote the home or business that may have had someone from the Resistance murdered by the regime.. so sad..

Not trying to plan to the minute, but the Picasso Museum has timed entry tickets so just trying to figure out about what time we'd arrive there. So if we started the Marais Walk around 8:30, paused to enjoy the sights along the way, would we likely arrive near the Picasso Museum (a couple blocks from the Carnavalet Museum) in an hour? 90 minutes?

OR ... You could go directly to the museum and do the Marais Walk back to Pl de la Bastile.
