maps.me problems

Need help with the me.maps app. We will be in the Loire Valley for our first 3 nights September 27- 29., and going to 5 chateau within that time period, . We will have a car a drive to 5 chateaus. I cannot get this app to give me basic info, nor save any destinations. How do you navigate this site? I thought I had this all figured out- I once was able to pull up driving instructions to the chateaus, but now they say : " Only available from your current location" which obviously ( I'm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA) is not there. -HELP
Also, just want to walk to restaurants in the area. (3 of which I have reserved) ....thought this was all plotted but apparently not.
How do you save both driving/walking directions! So far I am Not impressed with this app.

Hi there. I use this app regularly when away. Just google "Getting Started - Maps.me Support' and it will give you all the info you are looking for. Have a great trip.

It will set a route from anywhere to anywhere, but you can't save a route, and you can't "preview" it. I only get " Only available from your current location" when I press start.

Save the places you want to go as bookmarks, then when you want to go there, select the bookmark, and press "route to".

*edit" not sure why you would want to save a route - that means that unless you are exactly where you saved the start of the route, you would have to plot a route to get to the start....

As a backup, suzanne, you might want to try Google Maps downloaded (30-day) Offline Maps. It's not as powerful as their regular product, but I think it also reduces the data load on your phone if you do navigate with a live map.

Thanks everyone--I am fiddling around with this still. I did go to the support site, and it has offered some help, but I really don't find this app to be very intuitive. I do have Google Maps on my iPhone, and I think that once we get over there, between Google and maps.me it will be okay.

We are using CityMapper exclusively in Paris, (as recommended by several posters) and I AM really liking that app for the pre-planning I am doing with it.
