Map suggestions for driving Riviera and Provence

Hello,

My husband and I will be in the French Riviera and Provence regions for a week in April and will rent a car. We are looking for suggestions for specific driving maps to help us navigate. (We plan to drive the Corniche while in Riviera region and the hilltowns in Provence).
Just pick one up at TI? Purchase before we go? We will have cell phones but plan to use them to connect with internet only in our various locations. We are older and don't use google maps, plus we are concerned it would rack up costs on the cell phone. Suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you.

You can use the Michelin Regional France maps with orange cover and scale 1/200 000 or the Departemental France maps with yellow cover and scale 1/150 000. With the Departemental maps you can find even the tiniest place on the countryside but with the Regional maps you have a better overview of the region. Both type of maps will give you info about touristic routes and places and compact plans of major towns. I think it comes down to preference/comfort of use, so if possible have a look in a travel store to compare first.

Some prefer the France Road Atlas with scale 1/200 000, I find them a bit heavy and don't like turning pages while driving, but that's me. These maps and atlasses are easy to get everywhere in France, the French version ofcourse, no idea about the English version.

I agree with Wil. The Michelin map 527 covers Provence and the Riviera at 1/200,000 scale. I've been using it to help plan such a trip for June. You can find it on Amazon.

Thank you both for your help! I ordered the 527 Michelin map! We will be grateful for your input as we drive the roads of southern France with confidence and sense of direction.

My husband and I use the Borch brand maps that can be purchased at Narnes and Noble.
They are laminated and easy to use.

They may not have the 1-whatever ratio that the Michelin maps have but they are easy to fold and pack.

We have France, Germany and Italy. I am not sure what other countries are available at B and N.
