I am not young (79). My wife and I will be disembarking from a river cruise in Lyon and want to go Paris. My friend told me it will be difficult to transport our luggage to the train station and suggested a car service. Thoughts please.

My thought is that your friend is correct that it will be difficult. It is at least a 20-minute walk from the dock to the Lyon train station for trains to Paris.

We have done that trip off of a Viking river cruise. Just how much luggage will you have? Just a call a taxi if you do not or cannot walk that distance. It will be reasonable. We walk but we only had one carry-on size bag each. It was flat.
