What is the best time of year to take a river cruise from Lyon to Avignon to see the lavender fields? We are thinking of a trip in May or June of next year.

I would assume when the lavender fields are in bloom. We did that trip a couple years ago in the Fall when the grape harvest was underway and wineries were crushing grapes. Great trip anytime.

Lavender fields usually are in full bloom from June to August. The main Lavender fields of Provence are centered in the Luberon, and the Verdon plateau regions and to the east of Avignon. Book for last week of June 2019.
