Lyon Provence Paris trip question

We are lucky to have an Interval Exchange to Marriott Village d’ile-de-France for an end of September 2024 week.
We plan to arrive in Paris a week prior to the Marriott week to spend 3-4 days in Lyon, then 4 days in the Provence area.
There are TVG express trains from CDG to Lyon. Do we need to purchase train tickets in advance, or we can purchase tickets at CDG to avoid any issues in case of flight delays?
Is 3-4 days in Lyon enough? Which hotels do you recommend? I briefly browsed Marriott Lyon and InterContinental Lyon. We have Titanium status with Marriott if it should play any roles for hotel choice.

It looks like there is an express train from Lyon to Avignon. Should we base our Providence adventure at Avignon or add another base for 2 days? The reason I decided on Avignon is the express train from CDG to Avignon as well as from Avignon to Disney Paris, from there, just a short taxi trip to Marriott resort.

Are there any other cities with a direct express train to Disney Paris?

How is the public transportation from Avignon to Arles, Nimes and other local cities?

Hotel recommendation for Avignon or another city in Provence?

From Marriott Disney resort, we plan to purchase a weekly Navigo pass so we can spend 2-3 days in Paris, to local towns via public transportation. Is public transportation convenient for us to visit Provins, Chateau Vaux-Le-Vicome, Fontainebleau?

You'll save a lot of money by booking your trains ahead on sncf-connect.com. Allow several hours between your scheduled landing and the train departure, especially if you'll have to retrieve checked luggage. Three or four days are enough for Lyon, I'd say three if the competition is Provence. I liked the Hotel des Artistes near Place des Celestins, but I don't know how it compares with Titanium status at Marriott. (Is that better than gold? platinum? diamond? uranium?)

Avignon is a good base for Provence if you won't be driving, with rail and bus connections to Arles, Nimes, and other destinations. However, there's TGV service between Lyon and Nimes as well as Avignon, on separate lines. (Nimes Centre is the station you'd want, not Nimes Pont du Gard, which is nowhere useful despite its name.) I haven't stayed in Avignon so no hotel to recommend.
