Lyon metro tickets?

Hello does anyone know if they sell metro tickets by carnets like in Paris in Lyon? Are there various zones? Thanks

Yes, they do, but the day pass is better value than it is in Paris, it's cheaper than carnet tickets if you make four or more journeys per day. The whole TCL city network is flat-fare and goes fairly far out from the city - note however that the light rail service to the airport has a premium fare and is not covered by TCL tickets.

Pat, you may want to consider the Lyon City Card, which covers all public transport, most museums, and includes a guided walk (some of those are with French speaking guides) and a choice of river cruises. A three day card is 42 euro (online deal now for 37.80), there's also a 1 or 2 day card. You can pick it up at the large and well run TI on Place Bellecour. The Resistance Museum, and the Museum of Miniatures were outstanding, we really enjoyed Lyon a lot.

Ben.. thank you .. what a comprehensive post! Will have to print it out!

Dave.. thank you too.. but we will only be in town for two nights.. one day.. to see my dad compete.. so our sightseeing will be pretty limited.. that does sound like a good deal if we had a few more days though!
