Lyon hotel

I first heard about Les Celestins on this forum. Thank you!
My review:
This is an excellent traditional hotel, in an excellent location for visiting many of Lyon’s top “sights”. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Laurent. Most of the staff were multi-lingual. Our room was very clean and quite large, (by European standards). The bathroom was recently refitted, and was excellent. The breakfast buffet was generous, and coffee cheerfully served! The hotel is on the upper levels of a traditional building, but thankfully there is a good little elevator! The one suggestion I would like to make would be a “refresh” of the street-front entry…maybe a coat of a more welcoming colour of paint, and better lighting? It looks a bit dingy, and does not make a good “first impression”. BUT once you come up into the hotel itself, you are in a pleasant space and a welcoming environment. A great choice for visitors to Lyon! There are many “useful” businesses close by, too: bakery, pharmacy, wine shop….Aurevoir!

Yes, Hôtel des Célestins is a nice place to stay in Lyon. I've recommended it many times. It's one of the main places I try to reserve when visiting the city.

In addition to touristic visits, we stayed there when my wife was undergoing some challenging medical treatments at les Hospices Civils de Lyon, The central convenience of the hotel was much appreciated. In addition, the owner of the hotel is very personable and kind.

You might consider posting this in the Hotel and Restaurant review section of the forum.

Another thumbs up for Les Celestins. We stayed for 2 nights last month. The team was very warm and welcoming and it is in a great location to explore Lyon on foot and by metro.

We stayed at the Hôtel des Célestins in October 2023 and recommend it. Good rooms and breakfast, friendly staff, and well located for exploring. Lot's of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
