Lyon France to Vivey Switzerland

We are ending a river boat cruise in Lyon, France and plan on spending 5 days is Vivey Switzerland exploring the Lake Geneva Area. Should we drive from Lyon to Vivey or take the train and pick up a rental car upon our arrival in Vivey?

Do you mean Vevey, Switzerland? Take the train, and while you're at it, you probably don't need a car in Vevey.
