Lyon Area Itinerary Help (Here now)

I’m firming up some travel plans as I wander… Returning to US Friday Oct 2 from Lyon.

I’m currently in Vienne. Tomorrow I’ll day-trip it to Lyon as there will be four river cruise boats here tomorrow. Sunday and Monday I have booked in Annecy. Then I have 3 days to figure out. Would like to visit Perouges and see some more of Lyon but I’m a bit weary of cities as I spent a few days in Paris before heading south.

Looking for some smaller towns not too far from Lyon. I’m traveling pretty light but I’m 69 and don’t want to spend too much time relocating.

Look at Wikipedia for extensive information on things to do and see while in Lyon. Lyon has not added much population in the city limits for decades, so has retained much of the charm of the new Empire. So may not seem so rush-rush as metropolitan Paris. A gourmet friend of mine insisted that the best cuisine is in Lyon. It is right in the middle of Wine Country, so your cruise may have a tasting tour available. Bon Voyage!
