...is closed tighter than a tick.
And the Eiffel Tower is closed, due to freezing wind and snowfall.
It just started to snow, and it's big flakes, as big as a 1 EU coin, even going sideways.
chexbres, I've been looking at all the online photos of Paris in snow. While closures are unfortunate for tourists, some of the shots are beautiful!
Hope you're staying warm. :O)
I too have been perusing the Paris snow pictures. Most cities look better in snow. Growing up with an occasional decent snow to settling somewhere that snow never happens, I now find any snow exciting. I would love to be in Paris right now, even with closures.
Why on earth have the parks been closed for snow? This is an ideal time to be able to enjoy parks and gardens looking stunning in the snow. I understand when there are heavy winds that parks are closed, but snow? It is an ideal time for kids to build snowmen and people to be able to take photos.
Why on earth have the parks been closed for snow?
Officials were concerned about the weight of snow upon tree limbs which might cause them to fall and injure park visitors.

Because tourists and residents might slip and fall and there would be insurance problems...
People have already been building snowmen on the sidewalks, however.
There was an announcement on the news tonight that the Eiffel Tower will continue to be closed, due to snow, windy conditions and ice.
Well I can say that we arrived Friday 2/9 with a driving snow.. difficulty with RER line into Paris. The snow has stopped, the city is beautiful. The sidewalks were treacherous for a day, I must admit that did not slow Parisians. The busses and all transportation are running, the Eiffel Tower reopened today.
