Lunch reco between Beaune and St. Remy?

We will be driving from Beaune down to St. Remy and wanted to stop for lunch along the way. While I understand Lyon is known for its cuisine, I think it might take too much time to get in/out of the city (we're trying to hit the St. Remy market at a decent hour, since it will be on a Wed and our only Wed in Provence). Is there a smaller town about 1/2 way that has a great place (south of Lyon)? The RS guide focuses more on the towns north of Lyon and then not until you get all the way to Orange.

Thank you!

Rick's Provence & Riviera book indicates that St. Remy de Provence Wednesday market only runs until 12:30, so you'd have to leave early and drive straight there (4 hours per Google Maps) and have lunch after, or buy a picnic at the market. (See p. 114 under photo, or general notes middle of p. 511 that most markets close by 13:00.)

Thank you for calling that out. I have the France 2015 book and didn't see the hours included.
