Luggage Storage - Pont du Gard

We are taking a bus from Arles to Pont du Gard then on to Avignon in November. Where does one keep their luggage around Pont du Gard?

I don't believe there is luggage storage there.

Yes I read that on the visitors center web site. I’m wondering if anyone has deposited their luggage nearby in order to visit the site w/o it.

Suggest you look at a satellite view of Pont du Gard on Google Maps. The nearest place I can see that MIGHT be willing to hold your bags is a hotel 2.4 km away (34 minutes walking each way)

Which bus do you plan to take from Arles to Pont du Gard? There is no direct public bus, you have to go to Nîmes and then take bus 121.

There is a public bus from Pont du Gard to Avignon (line 115). If you are planning to take public buses, keep in mind that the schedules are primarily designed for students and schoolchildren.

So, have you checked if the schedules fits your plans?

If you will be heading to Avignon, maybe go to Avignon first, an easy 20 minute train from Arles, and leave your luggage wherever you will stay in Avignon, or at a luggage storage, and then take the bus to Pont du Gard. Since Nimes was mentioned as another option for getting a bus to Pont du Gard, there is definitely a cheap and convenient bag storage at a hotel right near the Nimes train station. I don't remember the name but it is in the Rick Steves guide book. I visited Pont du Gard by bus (line 115 I think) coming from the charming small town of Uzes. Uzes is closer to Pont du Gard than Avignon, Arles, or Nimes.
