Over the years there have been several posts (now closed) about luggage storage in Paris. Does anyone have any recent experience that would suggest a specific service to use or to avoid? If not in Paris, have you used any of the services in other cities? (My situation is that I will arrive early in the morning but might not be able to get into my lodging until mid afternoon, and I would like to be free of my suitcase during that time.)
Most (not all) of the train station in Paris have luggage storage. Gare du Nord does and is the direct line from CDG. That would be easy or you could see if a train station near your lodging has left luggage.
Or check with your hotel. Even though you might not be able to check into your room, ask if they will keep your luggage for you. If your lucky, when you return to the hotel you might find your luggage is already in your room.
Or you can try City Locker.
I assumed you were in an apartment; if you are in a hotel they routinely store luggage before check in. Note how secure it is before you leave valuables. Some hotels have storage room with check in and others put it in a corner.
Thanks for the replies so far, but they are missing the point. I am looking for reports from people who have recently used one of the storage places and can provide specific comments on the experience. Which service did you use? Did the transaction run smoothly? Was there any question about the security of your bags (any signs of theft or tampering)?
