Luberon Home Base / Wineries

We are traveling to Southern France early September, spending September 7 - 11 in the Riviera before moving over to the Luberon region.

We were thinking of making Lourmarin our home base from September 11-15th.

- Thoughts on this as a home base? We're looking to explore the old towns and check out wineries.

- Does anyone have any recommendations on wineries in the region? Or a map to follow while there.
- Is there a better home base recommendation to be more centrally located? We liked Lourmarin as it looks like a great town and we would be local for their Friday market.

We're not only interested in wineries, but that was the one area of reading through Rick Steve's I wasn't able to get a good plan around. Any must dos in the area would be very much appreciated.

You might find good guidance in the blog and books of Keith Van Sickle. We stayed near St Remy and found his advice quite valuable. https://keithvansickle.com/ Here is a head start by searching "wine" on his website: https://keithvansickle.com/?s=wine&submit=Search We did one wine tasting in Luberon, that was on an ebike tour from Bonnieux. https://www.provenceguide.co.uk/cultural-heritage/luberon/corkscrew-museum/provence-825569-1.html The winery tasting was well done and it has its own quite interesting corkscrew museum.

I stayed in Lourmarin back in 2019 and it was the best! My favorite village of the Luberon and we saw many!
