If you were booking tickets to the Louvre on a Monday during the summer, would you go in the morning or afternoon?
If you're trying to avoid crowds, I would go as early as possible in the day.
My wife and I got tickets first timed ticket for the morning. We were surprised how many people were already in line. Wjen we got in we went straight to the Mona Lisa and were able to walk right up to it. Two hours later when we went by it was twenty people deep.
After looking at the Mona Lisa we spent a few hours and it seemed to get real busy when we left around noon.
I’m a morning visitor as well. In addition to what’s been mentioned to me this museum gets very hot in the afternoon and may be sweltering in the summer heat, especially in the area under the Pyramid.
Honestly, if possible, I would consider changing to a different day. If not, I would probably look at the afternoon on a Monday.
The reason I say that is Monday seems to be based on what I’m following online the day most likely for the staff to go on strike so Monday mornings have been particularly problematic over the past few months
I just saw something on another social media site that said the museum did not open at 9 AM as scheduled today, Monday.
Now I agree that’s for me morning is best because if you can get there first if you can get there early you can get to art before It’s quite as crowded but Monday is kind of hard.
Either first thing or later afternoon. It seemed busiest around 10-2 when we stayed all day.
