Is it possible to be allowed In 15 to 30 min. Earlier than the designated ticket time?
And on the opposite end could you be allowed in if arriving 15 -30 min later than ticketed time?
I think a 15-minute window is allowed.
With this in mind . If arriving at hotel by 11:00 (which is a 30 Min walk from train station ) and a 33 min walk to the Louvre would you suggest choosing an entry time of 12:00, 12:30 or 1:00.
At one time I had hoped to get over to see the Orangerie after the Louvre, but am not counting on it.
I would choose 1:00 so you aren’t rushed and can enjoy the walk over there. But 12:30 works too. The best part of a visit to Paris for many people is enjoying walking around, seeing and absorbing this beautiful city. It isn’t for rushing from one site to another.
I was at the Louvre in mid-April and although there were many queues for different time slots and tours, the signage was too small to read from a distance. I showed my ticket to one of the security personnel and asked them to direct me to the correct line. That saved me a lot of frustration.
My timed entrance was 9:30, and the line didn’t move until probably 9:45am. I think I got in at 10 am. But, the rain started while I was in line outside so I think this impacted entering. There were people who arrived late for the 9 am entry, and the security personnel just directed them directly to the entrance.
Don’t forget to pick up a floor plan as soon as you enter.
Iowa girl! I gotta ask, where in Iowa are you from and when are you going to Paris? I’m from Dubuque!
I’m from
Bettendorf. Arriving in Paris Labor Day, Sept 5. Staying until Sept 9… need more time.
Don't forget to allow time for lunch.
I'm originally from the QCA myself!
Consider Café Marly for lunch (reservations a must...but available online). The view (especially outside seatint) is iconic and I have had some delicious meals there.
