Louvre Timed Entrance

Just before covid - Louvre's timed entrance was very flexible once admitted. For example, if my timed entrace was in the morning, I show up at my time, visit a wing or two, leave the area, and then return back to the museum later that day to do another wing without any issues. Coming in and out of the main museum with my tickets was fine, so as long as I am not trying to reaccess the wings I already visited.

Has anyone been there since they re-opened post Covid and can confirm this is still true?

From the Louvre website FAQs:

Q: Can I enter the Louvre several times in one day with the same ticket?
A. In order to help us manage the number of visitors and queues, any exit is final

So no, you can't leave the main museum and get back in again on the same ticket. :O(

My personal experience concurs with what Kathy has posted. They sometimes even remind you that any exit is final as you head out.

Before Chinese tour groups abused the system by collecting tickets and then running several groups through with the same tickets you could come and go all day on your ticket. Parents could take a child into the Tuilleries when it got restless and then trade with their partner; you could spend the morning and then go out for lunch and come back in the afternoon. It was a far superior way to enjoy the museum than an all day marathon. But that caused them to end this privilege. Now your ticket gets you an entry once to each wing of the museum.
