Louvre time-stamped tickets

Hello! My husband and I will be in Paris in a just a few weeks for our honeymoon! I had a question about tickets for the Louvre. Should we get them in advance online? The day we want to go, tickets aren't available until 10:30 a.m. and I was hoping to go earlier.

Or should we just show really early the day we want to go and purchase tickets there? Do you save a lot of time by purchasing them online in advance?

Thanks!

I don't know about the time stamped tickets but I would advise the Paris Museum pass. It covers a certain amount of days and includes the Louvre, the Orangery, and others and is a good deal, plus you get fast track access if memory serves correctly.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'd get there when it opens and use the Carrousel entrance for security which is usually but not always much shorter than even the Pyramid pass line and then get tickets from machines in side; there are a couple dozen machines and generally not much of a line for those. IMHO (and I have visited the Louvre dozens of times, but mostly in spring or fall not mid summer tourist season) this is not one you need to worry a lot about. The Musee d'Orsay on the other hand -- don't go there without ticket in hand which lets you use a separate entrance.
