I’m visiting the Louvre for the first time this April. Has anyone taken the guided tour that the Louvre provides? I’d like to know what you thought, was it helpful? I especially want to know the approximate number of people in the group.
Also, do they use audio headphones? Thanks for any information.
I haven't taken the Welcome to the Louvre tour, but I have taken dozens of Louvre tours provided by the Museum in French. Yes, you will have audio headphones and there will be about 20 in the group. I have never had a problem seeing art works or objects, including a tour of the Notre Dame Trésor a year ago or the Representation of the Fool in Art show last fall. Their guides are excellent.
I can’t speak to the tours at the Louvre but I did use Rick’s free Louvre audio tour from his app and highly recommend! Bring headphones that fit into your phone!
A tour is only as good as the guide, it's the ultimate your mileage may vary
