As the Louvre is open till late, we plan to visit it on a Wednesday. What is a good time slot to book a ticket. The purpose is to tour the museum and come out after sundown once the pyramid is lit.
Sorry in advance if this is a repetition of an earlier topic.
You don't mention when you are visiting and how long you want to spend there. That makes your question difficult to answer. But you can go to wunderground.com and put in your date and Paris, France to find out when sunset is.
We will be visiting in May. Was thinking of entering around 4 pm
Sadly the Louvre has become such a zoo to visit. The last time I went was a night time visit. It was the busiest I had ever seen it.
Actually, sunset in May is between 9:01 and 9:46, but the French Painting Galleries do close at 6. True that lightings won’t be as bright in other areas, too.
I was there in the evening in November, which is less touristy than May, and it was kind of like the good old days before the shoulder to shoulder crowds.
The lighting point is important. We have visited the Louvre a dozen times at least in the evening and now that my husband has visual impairment, he finds it much harder to see many of the paintings with the lower light. And of course a lot of the museum will be closed; we have more than once arrived to see a particular collection and found it unavailable.
I'd go around 3:30 or 4 and bridge into the evening, but note which galleries will be closed and prioritize the galleries where natural light is more important.
