Louvre - Fridays after 6pm reserved access hour

Hello! My wife and I are going to Paris at the end of May. Following the recommendations in Rick Steves' Paris guide, we are trying to reserve a time slot to visit the Louvre on a Friday, when it closes at 21:45. The Louvre website confirms that the museum closes later on Fridays, but when we try to buy tickets and reserve the time slot, the latest option is at 16:30 (as if the museum was closing at its regular time). We were hoping to start our visit around 18:00. Am I missing something? Is there other way to reserve Friday's "after hours" time slots?
Thank you!!

The end of May is 3 months away. You might want to wait until the beginning of March to see if the Friday night spots become bookable? I see that they are through April.

It's March 29th, and the Friday after-hours tickets for May are still unavailable. Tickets for June became available a couple of days ago, but only for regular hours also. Does anybody know if this is what usually happens? How long in advance are Friday after-hours tickets available? Thank you!

We visited Paris earlier this month and went to the Louvre on a Friday night. Our time slot was 19:00. We had a Paris Museum Pass because we were visiting enough sites that it saved us money. In any event, it was easy to book and so we thought crowds were going to be lighter than other visits. Getting in was easy, however, we found out the Louvre is always busy. :)

Sharing our experience to help.

Enjoy!

We were there tonight (Friday from about 5-8:30PM) and it was packed. Maybe Easter weekend draws more crowds? We’ve been 3x this week and very crowded each time. They were still letting people in at 8:30 while we were leaving tonight. We noticed the same thing- no advance tickets listed, so I’m thinking maybe if you get the latest offered, they let you in any time after. We ended up getting a Friends of the Louvre dual pass since we wanted to go several times. It was almost worth it just for the no line entrance (through the Richelieu entrance)!
