Louvre entrance, Da Vinci Ticket, and Museum Pass,

I plan very soon to purchase an online timed entrance ticket to the Da Vinci Exhibition for mid December.

Does this ticket enable me to enter the Louvre? Or, do I also need to purchase a separate timed entrance ticket to the Louvre? Or, will a museum pass enable me to enter the Louvre?

I plan to purchase a museum pass when I arrive in Paris mid December. When I have completed my timed entrance visit to the Da Vinci Exhibition, will my museum pass guarantee me entrance to the Louvre, or will I also need a timed entrance ticket to guarantee entrance?

I am trying to understand the interplay of the Da Vinci ticket and what else I need to enter the Louvre afterwards. This will play into my decision whether to purchase a museum pass.

Or is it too soon to know?

Thank you.

Your purchase of the timed entry for the Da Vinci Exhibition gets you into the Louvre afterwards. You’d not need the museum pass for this visit and you don’t need a separate timed entry to the wider museum.

Is the timed Davinci ticket just your time for general museum entry, or do you have to visit the Davinci exhibit first, at the time of your entry? We would like to see the Davinci exhibit, but enter the museum at 9am and see the Mona Lisa first, before the crowds, and then see the Davinci exhibit. Is this possible? We will not have the PMP.

My husband and I have 9:00 timed tickets on a day in November. The tickets then allow us to visit other works of art in the museum with no other pass. It’s complicated but not impossible to figure out.

If you read under the "free admission" options for the Da Vinci exhibit, one of them is "Paris Museum Pass."

However, when you select this option, it never asks for your serial number. What it looks like is if you reserve free tickets for Da Vinci, and present your PMP at admission, you should be good to go. Not sure though.

gimlethepirate has got it right. Just select the free option and the guards will look at both the pass and the timed entry.

I've been on the website studying this because I'm taking several different friends on different evenings using my Friends of the Louvre membership. Each time I want to go, I reserve a free Léonardo ticket to get through the exhibit door but my Louvre membership gets us in the museum door, just as your pass will.

I purchased a PMP and got a timed ticket to get in at 1PM for what I believe to be general admission. The Da Vinci Exhibition seems to be sold out for individuals tickets on that day (though not for groups) the last few days I have checked. Does any one know if the availability can change between now and then? Also, has any one gone as a group? I wonder as a last resort how hard it could be to form a group of 7 people and what the requirements are. Thank you!

Similar question as post above -- I have been trying to search for tickets for Dec 29 or 30 -- but it appears sold out for both dates on the Louvre site (and has been since I started checking mid October) ... Does availability change/ open up as the dates get closer? Are there any other sites to check for da Vinci Exhibit tickets? I am in need of two.

Thank you!

I can't remember if it was on this forum or Trip Advisor but some spaces opened for night visits to the daVinci exhibition. There was no way to visit the rest of the museum as it was on days when the museum closes at 6PM. I'm not sure if they may be adding any more of those times. Right now, looking at the calendar it appears to be sold for the rest of the run.
