Websites such as Rome2rio.com may help with some route planning. It looks like a very long drive over 2 days each way or a bus to Lisbon, 2 trains, a flight to Toulouse then another train. Not an easy journey no matter how you travel.

A rental car and 2 easy days of driving ( ~300 each) is not bad.
If trip is late spring, early summer doing it in one day is not unthinkable, as the late sunset at that time of year would have you driving in daylight.

The problem is the drop fee in a different country for a one way rental , or having to driving back to the origin.
