Can I buy an English version France guide book in paris?
Here's a list. I can't vouch for it. Note that a couple of those listed are closed, I guess they're in there for nostalgic purposes. And some of the links don't seem to work.
Maybe try one of the larger FNAC stores all over Paris (the website lists a few). I've bought maps at one of them, I wouldn't be surprised if they had some English-language guidebooks too, for us helpless tourists.
And of course you could get away with buying a book that wasn't Rick Steves, in such an emergency! ;-)
If you have a Kindle reader device (which includes most tablets and smart phones if you download the reader app) you can buy an e version of the book from Amazon.
While not the same as the paper version especially when it comes to the maps, it is useable and a lot less bulky than the paper copy.
I think either Galignani or W.H. Smith on the rue du Rivoli will have them. I know I've seen Rick's books in at least one of these stores, where I have shopped often. They are close to each other.
WH Smith will have it. Metro Concorde - if you're on line 1, take the rue Cambon exit and WH Smith is right across the street.
If you're arriving otherwise,it's the end of the first block along rue de Rivoli leading east from Place de concorde (i.e. in direction of the Louvre from Concorde).
They're open until 7 pm.
But it won't be cheap! But hardly expensive compared with the cost of your trip, a good investment!
