So many scam and pickpocket stories -- here's some good news for a change. Noticed on Sunday that my credit card was missing from my coin purse. Checked online and the only charges were my grocery purchases Saturday evening at Monoprix (which was closed on Sunday); went in to Monoprix on Monday morning and the customer service person asked my name, checked my ID and got me the card, which had been turned in. So there ARE still honest people.
Laura, that also shows the advantage of going online to check your credit card. I don't do that; I thought I had to opt for online banking, which I don't really want - but maybe I can just check my credit card balance. Well, that's good karma coming back to you! And in Paris, too!
there are far more lovely helpful people than scamsters - I frequently have phones given to me by customers and 99% are returned to owners - everywhere in the world. Even in Rome when Suzanne's husband had her bag swiped somebody found the owner.
Lauri!!!
Good news, but scary!
I'm so glad it ended well!

Good work, Lauri -- a lesson to us all.
Keep on shoppin!
same happened to a friend of mine who was visiting here earlier this year -- and, oddly enough, also at a Monoprix!
