Looking for recommendations on a place to stay in Paris in February for 2 people

Hello,

I am looking for recommendations for a place to stay in Paris February. It doesn't have to be a hotel. Can be a b&b, rental apartment, etc. We have 2.5 days at the end of a trip to Italy. My husband and I are getting away so something nice, maybe romantic, and ideally in a good location for walking to tourist sites and easy to get to and from the airport.

Thanks to those who gave me great advice in a different forum. I posted my question to the wrong place but I have saved your suggestions and will look into them.

I suggest you look for options on booking.com, using its filters for price range and other variables that matter to you. It lets you search on a map, and I suggest you look for places near the St-Michel or Luxembourg RER stations, where you can connect directly to CDG airport. That area is close to many sights and has lots of dining options. You might also consider the Ile St-Louis, very central and romantic but not quite as convenient to the airport. Also use the search feature on this website to find numerous threads on this subject. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Edit -- For such a short stay I'd advise against a rental apartment because of the logistics of getting and returning the key. You can schedule around that if you're staying long enough, but with so little time I'd think a hotel would be much simpler.

On the top left of the RS Header are 5 horizontal lines. Click on them. The SEARCH box will appear. Type in Paris Apartment. Plenty of suggestions.

Or check The Paris Perfect website.

Tried to post this info before, but it must have gone into a black hole. We like The Hotel des Deux-Iles as it is as centrally located as can be on Ile St. Louis. There are also a couple of other hotels on the same street, and one of them is a sister hotel. If you cross the river you will be in the Marais -- cross it the other way and you'll be in The Latin Quarter. Walk to the end of the island, cross the bridge, and you'll be at the back of Notre Dame -- such as it is now. The Metro is nearby and getting anywhere is not a problem. There are several restaurants on the island. If you do stay there, we can steer you to a great little place for breakfast as all hotel breakfasts seem to be over priced for what one gets. We can also tell you about several places for lunch and / or dinner on the island as well.

for 2.5 days you absolutely don't want the hassles involved in booking apartments; if you want an apartment book an aparthotel where you have some apartment amenities but can drop luggage, have a reception desk etc.

When we have two days in Paris we book Henri IV Rive Gauche which is near the St. Michel RER B stop and the river and just around the corner from Shakespeare and Co and near Notre Dame.

Everyone will have their own view on this, and much will depend on your budget and preferences. We recently stayed at the Hôtel Sainte Beuve, near Notre-Dame-des-Champs Metro station. It's a lovely small hotel, and the area is central and convenient, near the Jardin du Luxembourg. Highly recommended.

We're staying in LA CHAMBRE DU MARAIS, http://lachambredumarais.com Wouldn't normally spend this much in Paris or anywhere for that matter. Still it's my birthday. It's perfectly situated in the Marais.

Oh and considering you'll be in Paris for a special event, you might consider getting some photographs done, by Liran Finzi. A friend hired him, I think twice. We're hiring him too.

Ile St Louis (little island next to bigger island where Notre Dame is), as TC mentioned, would be perfect. You can’t be more central, super charming, and surrounded by the river with amazing views. Any of the 4 hotels there are wonderful… Hotel St Louis en l’Isle, Hotel de Lutèce, Hotel des Deux Iles, Hotel du Jeu du Paume.
