Looking for modest price dress in Paris

In spite of Rick Steve's comparison of Au Printemps to JC Penny's in the US, we found today Armani, Chanel, Bugatti, etc.etc.....more like Nordstroms. (. Nearly everything 300-900 Euros we saw). Rick evidently not a recent Penny's shopper. But wife would like to spend under 200 Euros for a nice dress.....suggestions where in Paris to look?

Try C&A. It is much more reasonably priced.

Andrea is SPOT on. We love C&A. They've got the latest styles at rock bottom prices. The big flagship C&A is literally across the street from Au Printemps on Blvd. Haussmann, but we generally go to the C&A on the rue de Rivoli.

My husband is the fashionista of the family, so when we’re in Paris we shop all of the “fast fashion” places along the rue de Rivoli and he stocks up on cool stuff he couldn't get in Seattle, at super reasonable prices. Get off the metro at Chatelet and stroll along the rue de Rivoli up to the Louvre-Rivoli stop (or vice versa) and you will find options galore for picking up a great dress at a great price. On that short stretch of street are C&A, H&M, Bershka, Promod Rivoli, Naf Naf, Zara… and more!

Maybe a few gorgeous scarves to wear with dresses already in the closet at home ?? Never go out of style because of hemlines ...

BHV, across the street from it's namesake Hotel de Ville, is a little closer to being Jacque Penny. Nice cafeteria on the top floor too.

I also second C&A on rue de Rivoli. There is also a Zara store there as well as H & M.

BHV department store, across from Hotel de Ville is fairly reasonable too.
I also like COS, on rue des Rosiers, in the Marais. (they may have other branches)
Sophisticated style, not too pricey. I shopped there a lot
when I lived in France. I am not young and real thin, but always find something good there.
