I’m making Lyon my home base and hoping to do day trips from there, particularly Arles and Avignon. Hoping to find well rated, experienced tour guides. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We use toursbylocals.com too. Have had many great tour guides through them.

Provence is really far from Lyon for day-trips. It's about 140 miles to Avignon and 170 to Arles. You can explore estimated driving times on ViaMichelin.com and train times on the SNCF website: en.oui.sncf
