My daughter will be doing a study abroad in Nante, flying into Paris. Looking information about the area.
Thanks for the links. I am also hoping for some personal experiences people have had there. 😄 She will be flying into Paris & catch train from airport. This is her first time abroad & only 2nd time flying.
We went to Nantes last year and had a great three-day visit.
The Jardin des Plantes is wonderful ... better than the one in Paris. It's right across the street from the train station. Just go there for a quiet time ... to walk around, or just sit on a bench and read or write.
Nantes was at one time a slave-trading center, and there is a very moving memorial to the slaves along the river.
A wonderful crèperie is La Cordelière at 7 Rue Ste Croix. Excellent galettes and crèpes, informal, nice staff. Not expensive.
Also, for one's inner child, the gigantic 'elephant' to ride in the park on the island in the river. I don't recall the names, but she'll hear about it, I'm sure.
