Any suggestions for guided tours of several of the champagne houses in France? Probably for 2 days. would like to see both large and small wineries. Most like staying in Reims.
You can book the tours by the champagne houses you want to visit online. Any guide you hire would simply move you between the houses as the wineries do their own in house tours. Plan ahead, because they are time specific and sell out very fast in season. English speaking tours are very limited.
For smaller houses your best bet is to get a car and head towards Chateau-Thierry. You'll pass multiple smaller houses, some of which are open for tasting (although the times may be limited).
I've said this elsewhere: driving oneself on a winery tour is a very bad idea. Blood alcohol limits in Europe are much lower than in the US, and it's a bad idea to drink and drive anywhere. And the notion of spitting wine out at a tasting, especially of Champagne, is unappealing.
There are numerous tour companies who will ferry you from winery to winery. That's IMO a far better approach.
The "notion" of spitting wine out may be unappealing but it is how the professionals do it so there is nothing wrong with that.

I'm assuming the OP is not a sommelier or winemaker. The rest of us don't typically spit. I say this having visited many, many wineries and tasting rooms. I've always swallowed, as has every single other person I've been with.
I did a tour at Veuve and I don't recall there even being a bucket to spit (not that I was going to).
