Looking for a gite in the Dordogne

We had a wonderful stay in an Agriturismo near Pienza, Tuscany, Italy last year. It came highly recommended by Rick (he actually stayed there). We are looking for a similar accommodation, for 2 couple, for 7 days, in mid-September 2018. La Cretiaole (the place in Tuscany) offered suggestions for local attractions, tours of wineries, cheese factories, etc, had recommendations for restaraunts ( and would make reservations) and even had a communal dinner where all the guest learned how to make the regional pasta and then dined together. We shared a common living/dining/kitchen area with 2 attached bedrooms with en suite full bathrooms. The owners were most helpful in arranging for rental cars as well.
We are looking for accommodations in the Dordogne with similar amenities and services.
Thanks for your thoughts and recommendations.

A few years ago we stayed at Moulin de la Ville and would highly recommend it. The location was good for sightseeing and the property was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the evening meals.

Back in 2000 we were planning a trip to France and I got advice from a very seasoned France traveler who stayed in gites for usually 4 to 6 weeks every year. His advice was pick the area you want to stay, decide on the number of bedrooms etc that you want the house to have. Back then the next step was to go the gite book, now you go to the online gite site and pick the places that fit your criteria. Then all things being fairly equal you pick the most expensive place. He also suggested that I rent it early because the popular places get booked up fast. For example I rented for next Sept about two months ago. I followed his formula and I'll be going back to the same place again next year.

Dordogne is a fairly large area so you need to decide more specifically where you want to be. An example would be an area generally bounded by Baynec, Sarlat and Cenac et St Julian. That's where I wanted to be and selected a gite in a very small village near Cenac. Part of your decision will be in town or out in the country? We generally prefer to be more out in the country. but I think there are some gites in Baynec and probably other towns. I would tell you where I rent but I already have it rented for the period you mentioned.

A few years ago we rented a gite with another couple that sounds like it might work well for you. We loved the location and setting. It's under new ownership and in a recent email we received the new owners seem eager to please. https://www.cours-du-fleuve.com
