Looking for a different experience this fall or early spring

We love France. Can't get enough. Love Paris. Love Strasbourg/Colmar, and Nice, and have been to each many many times. While I would absolutely return again to any of these, what experiences are we missing? Not a museum buff, not looking for war sites, etc. Just beautiful countryside, and peace, hopefully without all the crowds as much as possible. Would rather be on the train line, but absolutely could do a car. We have been to Avignon, but weather was rainy so didn't stay long. We love good food, shopping, fashion, and charming hotels what make the trip worth it. Thoughts? (We will also add Italy and Switzerland for the same questions but I will post there)

Based on your post you are missing the entire west side of France. There are thousands of posts detailing what to do in Normandy, Loire and Dordogne so I won’t get into those.

I can say that we just returned from a fun trip to Brittany that included 3 nights in Plomanoch and 6 nights in Le Conquet. Great coastal walks and seafood. Le Conquet is only a 30 minute drive from the Brest train station where you can get a 4 hour train to Paris.

Easy! Pick up one ...

Dordogne?

Occitanie?

Bordeaux?

Basque Country?

Auvergne?

Jura?

Pyrenees?

Corsica?

Loire Valley?

Based upon comments in a different France thread I have started to sketch out rudimentary plans for a trip to the Savoie department of the Auvergne Rhone Alps for 2027 perhaps. I am interested in starting in Lyon but then heading over to Chambery, Lac Aiguebelette and Aix-les-Bains, not necessarily in that order, and a couple of other mountain towns that that other poster mentioned and that I have written down somewhere. This is kind of a large geographic area, but I haven't been to this part of France at all.
